Suspension Alteration

To increase ground clearance, a ProComp 4” lift kit was installed (springs, shocks, brake line alteration) raising the overall ground clearance by 5 ½”.  The addition of larger tires on this vehicle achieved the end result of18 inches total clearance at the running boards.

Power Enhancement

The transmission was rebuilt using B&M parts, TransCo enhanced shift kit and a heavy duty aftermarket torque converter.

  • An 8-quart aluminum deep pan with cooling fins was also added.
  • A Super Chip performance enhancing ECM (Engine Control Module) was installed to reprogram the engine to increase performance and ease the strain on the engine in long-haul towing. The Super Chip also re-programs transmission shift points to allow for a higher torque curve.
  • Three Autometer gauges were installed on the driver’s side windshield pillar to monitor turbo boost, exhaust gas temperature and transmission temperature.ford gauges
  • A Brute Force intake tube and dry conical air filter were installed to increase intake airflow. A fresh air intake has been routed through the front fender as cool dense air also enhances engine performance.
  • A 4” Banks Monster turbo-to-rear exhaust system was installed to create better exhaust flow.

Winch

A Warn 12,000 lb. winch was installed on a quick release mount with sufficient primary electrical cable length to allow the winch to be relocated from the front to the rear of the truck, as well as mounted onto the front of a car trailer to load “dead” or damaged vehicles.

Lighting

Four PIAA driving and fog lights were installed on the bumper for on-road use. Six KC Daylighters were installed on the top of the rack for off-road use as these are illegal for highway use. Two 100 watt back up/work lights were flush mounted into the tailgate to keep them from also being broken off by that occasional rock or stump.

Exhaust Modification

The exhaust was later routed through the rear bedside to keep the ice build up between the wheel and the tailpipe from breaking off the pipe. It also helps in avoiding the rock or tree stump you might climb over when you go off road.

Custom Rack

This rack was designed and built by ARC to pack and haul all manner of gear for hunting and camping in backwoods conditions.  It is ideal for hauling kayaks, a canoe, anything you need for your outdoor needs. Floors in the rack allow for above ground camping so you don’t have to share the night with ground dwelling creatures.
