‘59 Cadillac Coupe deVille
This 1959 Cadillac Coupe deVille was located in Arizona where it sat mostly outdoors for 10 years. Multiple previous attempts were made at restoration. Nothing was ever completed, and most of the interior parts were scattered between facilities, some no longer in business. The car's owner contracted with ARC to create a clean looking and driving vehicle, with an attempt to maintain as much authenticity as practical. ARC transported the vehicle from Arizona to their facilities in North Idaho.Work in Progress Pictures
This car came to ARC in this disassembled state with most of the parts (plus a few non-Cadillac items) contained within the body.
The body is set on jackstands and the frame is removed from underneath the body.
It's obvious from visual inspection that the frame is bent. The frame is placed on the frame rack for straightening.
All the suspension bushings are replaced, the brake, transmission and fuel lines are bent and installed. The engine is painted and fully assembled. Meanwhile the entire inside of the vehicle is cleaned, repairs made to the floor pan and coated with a rust preventative sealant. The entire rolling chassis is reinstalled underneath the body.
